What Information Do I Need For The Discovery Meeting

In order for our advisors to understand if we can help you, we will need you to have the following out and ready for your review

1) Past tax returns. As long as you have the most recently prepared return, you will be prepared

2) Investment Statements. While many brokerage houses provide a summary of account, you want to have the details that will show the positions, the number of shares owned, the cost basis and the current value. You don't have to provide any of this data in detail and can provide "close to" or estimates if you feel uncomfortable sharing this information on the first meeting.

3) Any trusts or wills you might have

4) Any debts balances, start dates, and interest rates. An example might be your mortgage starting date, the term, the rate and the outstanding balance.

5) A general idea of your total expenses needed to live the way you want.

6) A general idea of your expenses that we might use in tax planning such as property taxes, medical expenses, charitable deductions, and sales tax on large purchases such as boats, RVs or automobiles

7) A breakdown of your income. Again, you can round off or give close to estimates. This would include pensions, Social Security, your salary if still working and any other income such as rental property income etc.

That's it. This is simple and you don't have to get to specific on this first meeting.

Can I Reschedule My Meeting

Our normal hourly rates are between $150.00 -$600.00 an hour. A discovery meeting has no cost as long as the following conditions are met.

  1. We allow one rescheduled meeting without charge as long as you contact us to reschedule or you use the reschedule link on the original email invite.

  2. You are on time. While we allocate a certain time to the meeting, we cannot extend that past our allotted time if you are late. As an example, if you are fifteen minutes late to a thirty minute meeting we will only allocate fifteen minutes of the remaining time, we cannot extend the meeting time.

  3. This is your first discovery meeting. If you have used up a discovery meeting already, we will charge you for the next meeting.

Is There A Cost For This Meeting?

There is ZERO -0- cost for this meeting. This meeting is not to sell you anything or to charge you a fee. We don't know if we can even help you. The meeting will be to ask some very simple, but non sensitive questions to make a general determination if we can help you or not. If we can we will schedule another meeting to determine if after our costs, you will be ahead. If not, then we will attempt to refer you to someone else that might be a better fit. After all, you have an issue, a problem or need a solution, otherwise you would not have scheduled a meeting. However, we are not the right fit for everyone.

Will I Get Advice On What To Do?

No, we will not give you specific advice. Our outcomes are based on deep dive calculations and math. We only do this after we have qualified that it makes sense to work together.

How Much Do We Charge?

We wish that it was that easy too. However, everyone's tax, investment, estate plan, asset protection plan and financial plan are different. Each item we find a problem with we will identify, and then discuss with you. Once we discuss it we will show you the cost, and the outcome and then you decide on each item.

How Safe Is My Information?

All of our systems are 256k password protected. While we take every effort and have never had an issue. However, we know that most issues that involve a data leak are from the users security issues. We would suggest that any time you communicate sensitive data (primarily tax returns) that you use our secure upload link and vault system and never send sensitive data over email. Postal theft is more common than electronic theft so we always prefer that you scan your data, or take pictures of your data and upload to our secure vault.

How Do I Know You Are Legitimate.

We are registered with the SEC. We file an annual report to the SEC outlining all owners, ways we do business, and if we have had any past legal or regulatory issues. All that information is available on the links at the footer of this page. We also hold an EFIN with the IRS that gives us the permission to file tax returns and work with the IRS directly. We also hold legal document preparation licenses in Nevada, as well as owning a multi state insurance agency. All these disciplines are licensed through either the federal government or each states regulatory system.

What Should I Expect On This Discovery Call.

You expect to be met with a pleasant and respectful individual that will listen to what your goals are, then to understand what your current financial situation is. Once we understand what you are trying to do, and who you are, we will ask some very basic questions. You don't need to reveal anything personal such as a Social Security Number, a Drivers License Number or even actual date of birth or account statement numbers. While these may come later as both parties agree to work together, they are not needed on a discovery meeting.
